Darin Shapiro - A Sea Plane At Ride The Spot - Video Feature

I get a phone call last Friday afternoon from Darin saying that there is going to be a Sea Plane at his place, Ride The Spot, the next morning. Without him even finishing what he had to say, i was already grabbing my camera and getting everything ready for heading skyward in a 1949 Cub. Turning up the next morning was cool, everyone was ready as the plane landed by the dock. First up was the photographer who had set up the plane to shoot from, then we switched out and i headed up into the plane for a few passes. We didn’t get as close or as slow as we had originally wanted, but it sure beat any other saturday morning. Did we mention that Darin still kills it too……

OMG, orbital melon bs1…? The past should be the future…. Radest/simplest/most stylish looking trick Ive seen in a long long time. I cant imagine all the variations possible with that kinda of trick. WOw

I sometimes use the name “Flatline” bs 180 since orbital usually refers to being off axis.
It feels pretty cool going over the line. Plus John makes it look good.

It’s amazing to see you at the top of your game after all these years. Great footage and some cool tricks too. I hope to get up there to see you soon. I am in training at work for the next 6 to 8 weeks, but after that I’ll know my schedule and would love to come and see the family.
You still rock the wakeboard world!

Caught Acid Drops all time this morning. Super low tide and heaving barrels. Best session I’ve ever had on the south side! Gonna be in the water at sun up tomorrow!
