Who Was The First Female to do a S-Bend Behind The Boat?

Raimi Merritt is the answer, and she did it today (Monday 16th March 2009). We headed out to Darin Shapiro’s place at Ride The Spot to shoot for the morning, and Raimi for sure got the Trick of the Year as far as the female side of the sport is concerned. She nailed it on her second try behind the boat out at Darins, and is a real cool example of how cable riding is making boat riders better. Raimi has been on the Sesitec System 2.0 for the last 2 months, and then took her Raily’s and S-Bends to OWC on the regular cable. It didn’t take too much effort from her to bring it to the boat and raise the bar for female wakeboarding. Congrats to Raimi!!!!
We will be bringing you more from Darin’s soon!

NIcely done! Max and chris, not sure if you ride but if you do try a few bs 5’s and also a few sbends and see if you still think the same. 95% of the pro men do a bs 5 but how many do a Sbend? with the new scoring system a sbend will do a lot more for the pro men then a bs 5 but they still aren’t doing them. make you wonder why!
mad props for Raimi

sick as hell YEAH!!!
March 17th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
Sweet!! Thats s was clean as hell and definitely stepping up the womens game. Id watch out for Nicola trying this soon
Personally Id want TOTY to go this, not taking away from the Back 5 which is awesome, but as someone else already said, try a back 5 and an sbend behind the boat, you’ll quickly appreciate the difference. I would put difficulty of the back 5 above the sbend, but the danger factor of the sbend makes it the winner I think.

je n ai jamais vu une fille aui a autant de couilles que Raimi.
that was really gangstar Raimi
congrats

So SWEET!!!! Really cool to see a girl stepping up. The guys saying a Back 5 should be TOTY are clearly not riders. I have made back 5’s and also caught edges while learning ,they are not fun falls but falling on a sbend isn’t even in the same class. You couldn’t pay me to try one!

Yea Raimi!
OWC is proud of you and knows all the hard work that you have put in this winter. Wait till the wakeboard world sees your other “first — by a female rider”
